Karakia

Opening karakia (used at Andersons bay primary school)

Kia hora te marino
Kia whakapapa pounamu te moana
Hei huarahi mā tatou I te rangi nei
Aroha atu, aroha mai
Tātou i a tātou katoa.

May peace be widespread. May the sea be like greenstone; a pathway for all of us this day. Let us show respect for each other, for one another. Bind us all together.

Closing karakia (used at Andersons Bay primary school)

Kua mutu a mātaou mahi mā tenei wā
Manaakitia mai mātou I te hokinga mai
Tiakina mai o mā tou whanau hoki
Me nga iwi katoa
I raro I te aroha
Ae ake ra

Our work has ended for this time. Take care of us on our return home. Protect our families also. And all people. In the spirit of love. Let it be.

Andersons Bay Primary School Karakia

Ki a tātau katoa
He mihi tēnei ki a koe
Kia mannakitanga
Kia harepapa
Kia aumangea
Kia whaiwhakaaro
Whāia te iti, kahurangi, Mauri tau!

To us all
This is a tribute to you
To be respectful
To be responsible
To be resilient
To be reflective
Seeing personal success, to be deliberate
